Trauma Informed Practice Training

Does your organisation want to become trauma informed and responsive?

“To truly call yourself a trauma informed organisation those with lived experience of trauma must be at the heart of all you do. Because it cannot be trauma informed unless it is informed by those with lived experience.”
(Cissy White)

How we can help

Understanding the prevalence and impact of trauma in Scotland is one of the key fundamentals
in the journey of becoming a trauma informed organisation.

Equipping staff with the knowledge and skills to understand the individual and societal impact of
trauma is one of the most beneficial learning and development opportunities you can expose
your staff to.

As well as equipping staff with essential skills and knowledge, trauma informed practice can also
enhance your organisational practice, policies and procedures.

In 2016 NHS Education for Scotland was asked by the Scottish Government to develop a set of
resources to promote and implement trauma informed practice within Scotland. This was due to
the growing recognition of the impact of traumatic experiences on people. Our Managing
Director, Shumela Ahmed co-produced the National Trauma Training Programme.
